However, we would love to see you at Beatley Central Library at that time, where local author Bunmi Emenanjo will lead a special story time by reading from her debut picture book, I’ll See You in Ijebu.
I'll See You in Ijebu focuses on Olu, a young Catholic girl growing up in Lagos, Nigeria, as she travels to the countryside to visit her Muslim relatives and celebrate Eid al-Adha. This vibrant book ends with a section that elaborates on the sights, sounds, and tastes of Nigeria -- including a recipe for the sweet fried dough called puff puff.
Though its precise date may vary, Eid al-Adha is expected to begin around June 16 this year, so now is a good time to learn more about how it's celebrated in Nigeria.
